Terms & Conditions
These terms govern all renovation, refurbishment, and contracting services undertaken by Calder & Mason. By accepting our written quotation, the client confirms agreement to these conditions.
1. Parties and Scope
These terms apply between Calder & Mason, the contractor, and the property owner or appointed agent named on the quotation, the client. The scope is limited strictly to the works itemised in our written estimate or approved contract schedule. Any additional work or variation must be agreed upon in writing before implementation.
2. Booking and Quotes
Quotations remain valid for thirty calendar days from the date of issue. Acceptance of a quotation is confirmed upon receipt of a countersigned proposal and the agreed mobilisation deposit. We reserve the right to revise costings if structural conditions revealed during preliminary strip-out diverge materially from the assumptions recorded in our survey.
3. Performance of the Work and Access to the Premises
The client must grant unobstructed access to the property between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday through Friday. Calder & Mason will maintain safe working practices, protect adjacent finishes with appropriate coverings, and leave the property swept and secure at the close of each day. The client must provide constant access to mains water and electricity.
4. Prices, Payment after Completion and Invoices
All figures quoted are based on standard working hours and the detailed specification provided. Invoices are raised at defined stage completions, with the final retention balance payable immediately upon practical completion. Settlement is accepted by direct bank transfer against invoice or in cash on completion. We do not accept card payments.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Clients may cancel or reschedule a confirmed project start date by providing written notice. Cancellations made inside fourteen calendar days of the scheduled commencement will incur charges for non-returnable materials, delivery handling, and plant hire reserved. Rescheduling is subject to available slots in our construction calendar.
6. Liability, Insurance and Complaints
Calder & Mason maintains public liability insurance to a value of five million pounds and comprehensive employer liability coverage. We guarantee all workmanship for twelve months following practical completion. Any defects or complaints must be submitted in writing within seven days of emergence, after which we will inspect and resolve genuine workmanship failures.
7. Governing Law
These terms of service and any disputes arising from our contracting agreements are governed exclusively by the laws of England and Wales. Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
